When the storms of life arise, and we have no answers, and we need wisdom, strength, and guidance we can run to God. Every time I have run to Him or clung to Him, I have found Him FAITHFUL!
1 Corinthians 1:9 AMP
God is faithful [He is reliable, trustworthy and ever true to His promise—He can be depended on], and through Him you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
He Is Faithful
I remember a few years ago I went through a two-month stormy season that affected our whole family. One of my children needed a sudden surgery. Another son was in two serious accidents, both resulting in concussions (and one in which his truck was totaled). I also was helping an extended family member’s marriage as it was abruptly unraveling. It was one traumatic and emotional circumstance after another. I was exhausted after those two months of trials.
It was during worship at church when I asked God if this storm was almost over because it was so difficult. I felt Him ask me this question:
“Look back. What do you see?”
I thought back over the last two months and every difficult situation, and then I burst into tears. I cried out,
“Lord, I found you faithful! You were faithful in every situation!”
We will know Him to be faithful to the depths we need Him to be. I needed Him every step during that two-month trial. I clung to Him and He gave me His peace.
Sometimes it is not until we look back over an experience that we fully know that Jesus is faithful to keep us through the most difficult storms of life.
This is when our faith grows immensely.
That two-month trial gave me a deeper understanding of God’s faithfulness. By my own personal experiences, I now knew that God is faithful. After that whenever I faced a difficulty, I was able to pull from my past understanding of God’s faithfulness, and that brought me life.
Every experience with God can be drawn upon when we need it the most. It always amazes me that we get to have this type of intimate fellowship with our God. He knows what we need and when we need it. He is faithful. That is who He is!
