Merry Christmas, friend!
Christmas is a season marked by giving. God set the example of giving when He gave us the BEST Gift Ever, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Savior of the World… our Savior!
I am continually blown away by that truth.
Today a friend texted me this scripture:
1 Corinthians 9:15 (NAS) Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
Indescribable = extreme, great, tremendous, powerful, unspeakable, indefinable… beyond description, beyond words, too wonderful for words.
What a word to define the Gift Jesus is to us!
Even though we will never be able to fully put into words the indescribable Gift God has given us … I want to remind us this Christmas season that:
Jesus is the One who powerfully works in us and through us. He helps us in every situation. It is by His wisdom, understanding, peace, love, joy, patience, kindness, and strength that we can meet every situation. What a gift we have been given!
In this season especially I think we need to remember that we are not alone! We have been given God’s fullness and strength to do what we need to do.
I know this season can be difficult because we may feel that the weight of the world is upon our shoulders. We may be doing so much that it is hard to truly slow down and enjoy this wonderful season. Others of us may be experiencing some sadness, loneliness, or grief.
We may be grieving the:
loss of loved ones,
loss of the way things used to be,
or feeling disconnected and alone.
I want you to know I do understand firsthand, and I am praying for you! But I also want to remind us of the awesome Gift we have been given… Christ in us! We may feel alone but He is with us! Jesus is with YOU today and always!
Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)
The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
At times, I forget the Gift I have been given in Jesus and I continue to try to do things on my own. That is when I stop and pray a prayer like this:
“Lord forgive me for trying once again to attempt to do this on my own or to try to figure it out myself. Lord, I am in You, and You are in me. Help me to do all the things that are ahead of me today in Your strength. Help me to focus on You and Your ability. I am so thankful that I do not have to go through this life alone. I am amazed that You promise to go with me and strengthen me to do all I am to do. Thank You Lord for being with me!”
Friend, no matter where you are or what you are facing this Christmas season, know that your God is with you! He will never leave you and He will empower you to do all things. I pray this gives you hope and strength to face all that is before you.
Praying that your Christmas season is filled with the indescribable Gift of Jesus!
Dawn
PS Always feel free to reach out to me. You are in my prayers!
