Friend, today I want to share a portion of a recent live event I taught called: Your Lane. Your Gifts. Running Your Own Race Faithfully. This teaching and gathering was a blessing to us all and I believe it can bless you as well.
In Christianity, the call to "run the race" is a metaphor for the lifelong journey of faith. We are called to run our race with a purpose.
Here are a few questions to ponder.
Are you running your race, questioning your race, or are you on the sideline watching everyone else run their race?
By considering these questions they can help us to run the race set before us. This race is not a competition against others, but a focused, life-long journey toward Jesus, step by step we become more like Jesus in character and action. We take some steps forward and some steps backward as we learn, but hopefully always having the heart to finish well.
It’s Not just what you are doing but WHO you are becoming!
Hebrews tells us how to run.
Hebrews 12:1-2 (NAS) (I bolded key words)
… let’s rid ourselves of every obstacle and the sin which so easily entangles us,
and let’s run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking only at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith …
During this live event, I taught about the obstacles and the sin that so easily entangles us. I shared six obstacles that will keep us from all that God has for us. Today I want to focus on one of the obstacles.

Many of us are not sure of our giftings and it causes us to second-guess God’s plan in our life. It’s common to misunderstand or actually dismiss our gifts as ordinary or everyday. That is why I want to assure you that you have been uniquely gifted by God. Your gifts are used in your everyday life. Many of us think running our race is confined to only “spiritual” things, but the truth is our gifts help us to run our race well every day.
So often the things that we are good at we tend to dismiss as not a gift, because they are so easy for us to do. KEY: that is when you know it is a gift God has given you!!!
I’d love for you to answer these questions. They can point to places of your giftedness.
Take a minute and think about: What Do You Love to Do?

Then consider:
1. Is there something that you are good at?
2. What fills you with joy when you think about doing it?
3. Has God put a dream in your heart?
4. What do you feel you are led to do or pursue?
Our gifts and talents are freely given by God, and it feels natural to use them.
