Have You Wrestled with God?

I think we all have wrestled with God. I personally have wrestled with God by wanting my own way and trying to "convince” God that it was the “best” way. 

What I found was as I told God specifically what would work in that situation, He always did it differently than I suggested. Honestly I never even considered the way He chose. His way was always completely different than what I told him to do. That's when I discovered God's way was BEST!

I learned His ways are so much higher than my ways. I gained confidence and trusted Him with the solutions to my daily issues. Even in the most difficult problems in my life, I have learned that God will lead and guide me in the way I should go.

Isaiah 55:8-9 (NKJV)

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.

I have a treat for you. My son, Luke, taught an amazing lesson to the youth recently. I was blessed to have him share this teaching with me as he tweaked it. I listened in amazement as he taught about wrestling with God in a way I had never heard. Luke’s insights blew me away!

This 30-minute lesson gave me so much encouragement. It was a blessing to see from a new vantage point of how Jacob wrestled with God … and God's purpose in the wrestling.
